Hello.
My first posting will be about my favorite Korean pop singer. His name is Ko Yu-Jin and he has the most amazing singing voice I have ever heard. I first saw, and heard him in a video on Youtube, about 21 month ago, and I have been a huge fan ever since. No matter how often I hear this man sing I am awed by his voice, every single time. What's so amazing?, you ask. Well, first of all, he was classically trained in music during his college years. Second, he has a near-three-octave vocal range; unusual for most men, as well as a lot of women. And, third, he can imitate the singing styles, and voices, of most of his contemporaries in the K-pop entertainment field; both men and women. If you still aren't convinced, then I suggest you check out some of the videos, featuring this man, that you can find on Youtube. Ko Yu-Jin is, in a word, awesome! Thank you. Anna
(Ko Yu-Jin was born in Seoul, Republic of Korea, 8 april, 1978. (Birth name: Go Hang-Yu) He attended the High school Jamsin, and Christ Theology University, in Seoul, where he majored in classical music. He gave up the classical music field to become a member of the Korean pop group, Flower in the mid- 1990’s. He served two years in the Korean Military, which is mandatory for all Korean young men. After his military service, he recorded his first solo album, (Newborn-2004), before rejoining Flower. Ko Yu-Jin has almost a three octave vocal range, and has impersonated many of his contemporaries in the pop music field, both male and female. He can sing “true” soprano, even though he is not a “castrato”, but speaks in a normal masculine voice range. After the break-up of Flower, in 2006, Ko Yu-Jin went on to launch a solo career releasing two more albums and a single. ( My Romantic Life-2006; Equi-Vocal-2008; and the single, Neo Hanaman (Just You)-2008.) Posted May, 2009, on Last FM by A.D.)
